Islamic University of Technology (IUT)

Islamic University of Technology (IUT) is a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), representing fifty-seven member countries from Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America. It is dedicated to the development of human resources of the Islamic Ummah in the fields of engineering, technology, business, and technical education, and stands as the most visible demonstration of the Islamic Solidarity and Joint Islamic Action under the Makkah-Al-Mukarramah international.

It is an international institution of higher education. This university has been categorized and ranked as one of the unique international institutes by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Government. The University is currently offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the fields of engineering, business, and technical education. It organizes skill-upgrading and knowledge-updating short courses and trade courses tailored to the needs of the member states. It also conducts research in technical and vocational education and manpower development, undertakes technological and industrial research, promotes technical co-operation, exchanges technical know-how, and disseminates basic information on the development of human
resources among the member states of the OIC. The University also offers advisory, consultancy, and testing services to national and international organisations and industries

Admission Requirements for Host country students:

BSc Engg and BBA:

For Bangla Medium/English Version:

– Student from only Science group can apply

– Minimum GPA 4.5 in both SSC & HSC

– A+ in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (HSC)

– Minimum A in English (HSC)

– Must have to pass HSC in 2024 or 2023

For students from O/A Level or Equivalent:

O Level or Equivalent:

– Minimum Grade B in any two subjects among Mathematics,Physics,Chemistry and Minimum C grade remaining subject mentioned aboved

-Must have completed in 2021 or later

A Level or Equivalent:

-Minimum Grade A in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry

-Must have completed in 2024 or 2023

Selection Procedure for Admission Test

For BSc Engg. and BBA:

Academic Score(for National Curriculum) = HSC Math percentage + HSC Physics percentage + HSC Chemistry percentage + HSC English percentage

Academic Score (A/O level students) = A-Level Math percentage + A-Level Physics percentage + A-Level Chemistry percentage + O-Level English percentage

*Test Score = Marks obtained from Admission Test

*Combined Merit List will be prepared base on Test Score

* No Marks deduction for 2nd timer

*Selection for Admission Test:

For BSc Engg and BBA:

Among those who apply, the first 9000 students from the National Curriculum and the first 200 students from the English Medium will be allowed to participate in the examination based on Academic Score. In the said process, if more than one person has the same academic score, priority will be given in the following order.

Bangla Medium/English Version

(National Curriculum)-

HSC Math > HSC Physics > HSC Chemistry > HSC English > SSC Math > SSC Physics > SSC Chemistry > SSC English > HSC Bangla > SSC Bangla

English Medium(A/O levels)

A-Level Math> A-Level Physics> A-Level Chemistry> O-Level English>O-Level Math>O-Level Physics> O-Level Chemistry

* The applicant’s selection of the admission test venue will be based on his/her preference and academic score. In case of tie-breaking, the earlier order and lastly the time of application will be considered.

* Even when the merit list is published after the admission test, if the combined score of multiple candidates is the same, priority will be given in the following order.

Test Math > Test Physics > Test Chemistry >Academic Score > HSC Math > HSC Physics > HSC Chemistry > SSC Math > SSC Physics > SSC Chemistry > SSC English

For Bachelor of Science in Technical Education(BscTE)

Candidate must have 3 or 4 years Diploma in Engineering/Technology or the equivalent having minimum CGPA of 3.25(out of 4.00)

1. Full OIC Scholarship-02

2 full OIC Scholarships for the host country are awarded to two top ranked admitted students in the combined merit list of the admission process but they have to deposit a refundable amount of US$1000 which will be refunded after completing 1 year

2. Partial OIC Scholarship 84

(CSE-20, EEE-40, ME-20, SWE-1, IPE-1, CEE-1, BTM-1)

3.Partial IUT Conditional Scholarship- 04

This scholarship will continue if and only if the student maintains a CGPA of 3.75 in a row.Otherwise,it will be forfeited if the students fails to maintain the condition and will need to pay the fees for that academic year and all future years

4.Self Financed- 548

(CSE- 80, EEE-100, ME-80, CEE-117, SWE-57, IPE-57, BTM-57)

SCHOLARSHIPS DISTRIBUTION

Full OIC Scholarship:

The number of seats is 40. It is for foreigners only.
Among Bangladeshis, only those who rank 1st and 2nd in the admission test are given the Full OIC Scholarship.

Partial OIC Scholarship:Number of seats-120

For Host country- 84 (CSE-20, EEE-40, ME- 20, SWE-1, IPE-1, CEE-1, BTM-1)
The remaining 40 seats will be given to the OIC member countries.
There are 57 member states of the OIC. If no one comes from any country among the 40 seats, those seats will be given to Bangladeshi students.
Usually, out of the total 120 seats, 70%-80% are given to Bangladeshi students.
